Using data from the US Census Bureau, 24/7 Tempo identified the 50 counties and county equivalents with the worst health insurance coverage. Counties are ranked by the proportion of residents under age 65 — the Medicare eligibility age — who are uninsured.
Half of the counties and county equivalents on this list are in Southern states, including 19 in Texas alone.
