Digital payment company PhonePe on Thursday announced the launch of its latest health insurance plan, Health@999. The plan will target young first-time health insurance buyers, who are buying their first health insurance coverage to protect themselves against planned and unplanned medical costs.
The latest offering is the first of its kind in the Indian digital payments space, PhonePe noted in an official statement. It offers comprehensive health coverage at an affordable price, according to the firm.
The product has a 3-step process that only requires the user to provide details such as name, age, gender, and email id to purchase the policy.
Here is how PhonePe users can get the Health@999 plan:
1. Login to PhonePe app and choose Insurance tab
2. Click the Health icon @999
3. Choose your age range and amount of health insurance coverage required
4. Add your basic information such as name, gender, date of birth and email.
5. Click Buy and make payment to get your policy instantly
Health @999, at its low price, offers coverage for hospitalization costs, including inpatient and intensive care hospitalization, day care procedures, ambulance costs and Ayush treatment, among others.
The cashless hospital network for the plan spans 7,600 hospitals nationwide. Health@999 can be used through PhonePe and comes with the Lifetime Renewal feature, the company noted.
“We believe that more than 335 million PhonePe users will greatly benefit from this offer which can be purchased quickly and easily on the PhonePe app,” said Gunjan Ghai, Vice President and Head of Insurance, PhonePe.
“Our offering is designed with the idea that all Indians deserve access to affordable, high-quality health insurance – regardless of income or level of education,” Ghai added.
