MSIG Launches Medical Insurance Plan for SMBs Focused on Flexible Coverage | Taiwan News

Innovative “one level up/down” outpatient coverage and new digital platform provide flexible and inclusive options for clients

HONG KONG SAR – Media Outreach – October 18, 2021 – MSIG Insurance (Hong Kong) Limited (“MSIG”) today announced its group medical insurance plan for SMEs (“the Plan”) targeting SMEs with flexible coverage options as well as MediGo, a new digital portal for policy integration and management. Drawing on its experience in health and business insurance, MSIG designed the plan to meet the unique needs of SMBs in today’s rapidly changing digital business environment.

The plan offers six levels of coverage – from essential to premium – to ensure that every employee can have the right level of benefits. MSIG has also developed an innovative solution “one level up/down” function which allows employers to choose one of the three levels of Optional Outpatient Guarantees corresponding to each hospitalization plan. This allows SMEs to provide groups of employees with tailor-made coverage tailored to their needs.

As the next step in its digitization programme, MSIG has also launched the MediGo portal that provides online access for the convenience of employees and employers. Purpose-built features mean users can easily manage their SME group medical policies and benefits. Employees can now find licensed physicians, submit and track claims, upload documents, access digital medical cards, and monitor their benefits, all in one place. Services for employers have also been enhanced to include online inquiries and 24/7 access to policy details and member information. In due course, all MSIG Group Medical Insurance customers will be able to enjoy the benefits of MediGo as it is rolled out to MSIG Healthcare customers.

Philip Kent, President and CEO of MSIGnoted: “The SME community in Hong Kong is a vital part of our economy and presents a significant opportunity for insurers. We have designed our new SME Group Medical Plan and Medical Portal to provide sophisticated employee benefits that are easy to administer – so they can stay focused on growth and development. Our unique view of SMEs is based on our long experience of serving health and commercial insurance customers and we are delighted to offer a plan for the both flexible and digitally advanced.

The scheme offers premiums adapted to the needs of young dynamic SMEs whose demands are constantly changing. Prices are based on the age of each insured employee and dependents, using Age Ranges 5 Years – an approach tailored to the way SME teams grow and develop. Employers can customize their policies with optional coverages, including additional major medical, dental and personal accident benefits. The MSIG also introduced a simplified application process, removing individual health declarations for businesses with six or more employees.

In addition, insured personnel and their dependents can benefit from direct billing services from a network of more than 2,600 general practitioners and outpatient specialists via the MSIG digital medical card.
